Have you heard of TRX? This fitness method uses straps and your body weight to build strength and cardio endurance. You can adjust your position with each part of the workout to make it as easy or challenging, as you want. Fall session meets 6 to 6:45 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Sept. 4-Oct. 25. Lacrosse introduction for ages 6-9 is designed to introduce and develop key lacrosse concepts in beginning players, primarily focused on ball control, passing, receiving, dribbling, shooting, defense, etc. The focus will be on building a basic foundation for players to move to playing at a competitive level. Game situations and actual games will be used with a focus on gaining a basic understanding. Class meets 5:10 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 4-25. Cost: $53/resident; $78/nonresident.
Check out a diverse mix of yoga offerings at the Oconomowoc Community Center. Certified instructor Cindy Stark teaches classes for the beginner to advanced, including PiYo and barre. The next session begins the week of Sept. 5. Morning and evening classes are offered.
Saturday Cardio Pump
The class provides a mixture of cardio exercise with combinations of kicking and punching techniques, body sculpting using weights along with floor work and stretching cool down. It’s a fun-filled, fast-paced workout. Build flexibility, endurance and power. No prior martial arts experience needed. You can sign up for the fall session, which runs Sept. 8-Oct. 27, or drop in. Session fee: $40/resident; $60/nonresident. Drop-in fee: $8/resident; $12/nonresident.
Is your child too young for elementary school but academically ready for more? Then this program is for you. Focus will be on pre-reading, writing, word work and math skills to get your child ready for kindergarten. Students should be able to identify most letters and numbers 1-10. Previous preschool experience preferred but not required. Ages 3-4. Class meets 9 a.m. to noon Mondays and Wednesdays, Sept. 10-Jan. 23. Payment plan available for semester.
